We are finally home from all our Christmas travels. I think we crossed most of the state of Ohio in the past 4 days. It was a great time with family and the boys had a blast. Hopefully, your Christmas was restful and blessed.
Jason is off this next week, so we are turning our focus to the house and, hopefully, wrapping up projects. One space that is close to completion is our downstairs half bath. When we first purchased the house, this is what it looked like:
As you can see, the flooring wasn’t laid correctly and it was buckling and warped. Otherwise, it was one of the less atrocious spaces in the house. Even so, we ended up gutting it:
We prepped the floors the same way we did the rest of the lower level: primer over the existing tile with plastic floor underlayment laid on top. The bathroom actually sat in the state pictured above for quite a while before we made anymore progress-moving consumed our focus for a bit.
We did eventually make some progress though and here’s what it looks like now:
I know, it’s a bathroom, so not terribly exciting. BUT I think it’s an upgrade from where it started. We still need to touch up the paint and the plumbing under the sink may or may not leak intermittently, but we’re getting there.
I hope you are enjoying this holiday season as much as these guys…
