Downstairs Half Bath

We are finally home from all our Christmas travels. I think we crossed most of the state of Ohio in the past 4 days. It was a great time with family and the boys had a blast. Hopefully, your Christmas was restful and blessed.

Jason is off this next week, so we are turning our focus to the house and, hopefully, wrapping up projects. One space that is close to completion is our downstairs half bath. When we first purchased the house, this is what it looked like:

Progress Continues-microwave, pantry, and my big, beautiful sink

Progress continues in our kitchen and I’m super pumped about the changes. One feature that was in the last update was our sink. I didn’t show pictures, so I thought I would include those in this post.

It’s called a super sink and it’s mammoth. I’ve always had metal, 50/50 over the counter sinks, so this one has me completely spoiled. I can fit even my largest pans easily in it, making cleaning up much easier. Continue reading

The Kitchen

The most extensive part of our renovation has definitely been the kitchen. This was the space we spent the most time planning and the most money transforming.

This week, our kitchen officially became functional. Our contractor came on his day off to get it up and running for us. Many thanks to him and his wife for giving up family time, so that we can have running water! You guys are awesome! Continue reading

Jacobean

Sorry for the break in posting. I’ve been a bit under the weather and not up to it. My flu shot effectively made my arm sore for a week, but did nothing to keep me from getting sick. Blah. BUT I’m on the mend now and ready to show some more pics!

Thankfully, even though I’ve been out of commission, progress has continued at the house. The biggest change being the floors getting redone. Continue reading

Drywall!

Drywall went up this week and our house is finally starting to look like, well, a house. I can really start to see everything coming together and it’s exciting. There were so many little details to finish before we could get to this point: electrical, subfloor raising, HVAC duct rerouting, moving a waste pipe, etc. The stuff you don’t really think about when planning a renovation, but necessary nonetheless. I’m glad to finally be in the “finishes” part of the remodel.

Now for the best part of any post-pictures! Continue reading
